icon_cry.gif I did a cake on sat my first time using fondant and i used wiltons brand i hated it.Is there something easier?thanks

It takes practice. Actually, Wilton is generally one of the best for beginners.

JoAnnB is right--Wilton is the easiest fondant to work with (if only it tasted better icon_confused.gif ). Most other fondants are more tempermental, softer, tear easily, are stickier, etc.

I'd suggest plugging away with the Wilton for practice until you feel comfortable with it and then try other brands--Satin Ice, Pettinice, FondX, etc. When I have problems with any of these, I actually add some Wilton to make them work better, but retain their good taste, etc.

Making your own MMF for practice is also a cheap alternative, but it can be a fussy product, so be prepared for some initial problems until you get a good feel for it, too.

Practice does make perfect in this instance---have fun with it!
