"Eat Your Cake First"..

Hey everyone,,I had just a simple question that perhaps someone can confirm for me, for this wedding cake I'm getting ready to do here in a couple of days...
It is to feed approx. 100 people...
I have in the pan sizes: 12-9 & 6 rounds. I am going to make all three pans 2 layers and fill.

Think this is the right sizes eh?

Let me know......
Thanks....... icon_redface.gif

According to Earlene's Cakes, that would serve about 66 people... you don't figure in your top tier in the count ...

Wilton shows it would serve about 86 people...

I believe Earlene's sizes are larger than Wiltons

icon_cry.gificon_cry.gif OH MY GOSH...I think I have the WRONG pan sizes...

I have Earlenes chart and Wilton and that's what is really confusing me...at the moment..

So, then I would be better off making 2 -16 rounds, 2-12 rounds and 2-8's rounds for the topper??

Oh man,,,,,I'm starting to sweat here...... icon_cry.gificon_cry.gif

You could do 2-14". 2-10" and the top tier 2-6"..that would give you around 100 servings, with the top tier reserved

icon_redface.gificon_cry.gif Oh Thank You Thank You Thank You Missy!!!!!!!

I like that pan sizes......Because I just went to the other room where I keep all my decorating stuff and was looking for a 14" pan (of which I don't have) it figures.....but I have that "thick" bottom base for the bottom cake in size 14.

so thanks again for the quick replies...now my stomach can settle down.......I'll just have to make a trip to the store tomorrow and buy a 14 round pan and be set.

Thanks again...... thumbs_up.gif

the top tier can be counted if the bride is not keeping it as an anniversary cake.

true cakeconfections... I tell them to serve it ... I mean, really, who wants to eat a cake that's been frozen for a year? ... I tell them to just call me and I'll replicate the top tier as closely as I can for a very reasonable cost ... I'd much prefer a nice freshly baked cake instead of one frozen for a year icon_smile.gif

Had to tag onto this one, we had a wonderful baker make our wedding cake, my dh and I didn't get any cake at the reception (except what we fed each other) so I was really looking forward to the anniversary cake. I took specal care to wrap it thoroughly and froze it, we thawed a year later and it was DELICIOUS!!!!!
