Alright, members, I am still pretty new to the fondant/gumpaste techniques.

For those of you who use clay guns regularly, here is my question:

I will be doing an art deco, stained glass styled cake, and I would like to make the design as authentic as possible. I want to make 3-D lines to look like the solder that separate the "stained glass" panels.

What goes through a clay gun easier, fondant or gumpaste? Advice, anyone? Thanks!

Haven't done it, but on a video I watched last night, Nicholas Lodge says fondant goes through the clay gun easier than gumpaste.

I say fondant as well. knead it well with crisco first and then put it through. If it seems too hard, like if you were using wilton brand, i might microwave it a tiny bit too. Good luck, that sounds really cool. Can't wait to see it.

Well, the votes are in, so fondant it is. Thanks for your input. I will post a photo if it works the way I expect.
