I made the Buttercream Dream recipe and added 2 oz unsweetened chocolate. The color, texture and consistancy are all great, but the taste leaves a lot to be desired. It's bitter and tastes only slighlty better than the chocolate alone. Is there anything I can do to fix it? I don't have ingredients to make a whole new batch and hope for better results. I really wanted a yellow cake with chocolate frosting for my sons birthday and don't want to have to resort to the vanilla mix I have on hand.

I haven't used that recipe, but how about beating in more powdered sugar?

It sounds like it needs to be sweetened...I agree...add a little sugar...taste....add more....etc..etc...
My favorite chocolate combo is chocolate-orange.....if you have any orange extract, put in a drop...the flavor just POPS !!!!

Thanks for the suggestions. I don't have orange extract, but I do have more sugar. Should I put in the sugar until it tastes right and then add milk to fix the consistancy, or should I be adding both together?

I would add the sugar first, but if it seems not to be blending, add a TBSP of milk at a time.
