Hello,
Here's a little brochure I designed. It is an online electronic brochure which is meant to be turned just as one would a handheld booklet.
The first pages turn easilly as you open the book. However they don't turn so easily if you have viewed them already. There are 3 pages to turn.
It is especially difficult to turn to the cover again, once one has turned the page. Could you turn a few pages and make a few comments. I would sincerely appreciate it. It takes a long time to process the first time you
see it. As a matter of fact, if you are on dial up... it is quite difficult.
Comments?

No, you see, I t hink that is my fault.
There is so much that is unclear. I wrote the words TURN HERE and sometimes... well sometimes the little clicky thing doesn't work.
I think people will become discouraged and not review it.
Let me ask you a question... if you just happened to receive this in an email from someone you KNEW.. not an unsolicited email mind you... but if a friend emailed it to you... and you didn't know the name of the chairity...
would you likely attend if you found smoething you really wanted adn thought it might be fun to attend? What would you need to know about the event to make it "fun to attend"... not like auctions are fun...
Would love you input.
other than my rotten mousing skills...I had not problem turning pages in either direction.
just a brief pause to let page edge curl up while hovering pointer over corner was needed and it turned just fine
very nicely done!
biggest suggestion I could make...hard to find corners except on front cover as pages are white and blend seamlessly w/ white of monitor background. any way to give pages a color tint or a border or some kind of little design wingding in the corner???
Thanks...
Yes the backgrounds needs to be colored... It actually makes the end of the pages more clearly visible... I chose white background because all the little auctioned images were on white background. Rather than cut each photo around the edges of the image, I simply made it square. Only problem is.. just as you say... the pages blend into the white background...
Yuck
The purple page is a weird color for an auction background as well. But I thought it showed up easily to help turn the page. If you click in the left middle of the first page... below the earrings in the area where there is a red paragraph to someone named richard... if you roll the mouse over it... supposedly a gray popup window occurs... but I don't like that. It is too hard to read, and the mouse thingie is already a problem
I'm thinking of combining the booklet with a true website... that way you can preview... THEN go to a website where each page is the item auctioned...
thought in hind site that may make more sense... comments ???
Okay people, I have 34 loookies and no comments...
tell me how bad it is... I can take it.
in my opinion- on some of the pages, esp. the ones with bunny's, it has too much info. as in all the details about the item. it kind of wierd when you get to those pages and all of a sudden you go a lot a detail but the pages before you don't have much details on the items. i don't know- i think it needs to be more consistent. i hope this makes sense.
other than that i think it is actually pretty cool-- i didn't know you could do a virtual booklet thing like that.
i know nothing about web designing, i didn't have any trouble, but i also knew from reading spotty answer that i needed to drag the page (like opening the page)
i like it, i like the layout, it's not super clear to read, will that be a problem? & i agree i don't like the grey box b/c everytime i moved the cursor it would disappear.
i wondered if you knew that you could lay the cursor on the outside top corner to botton corner & turn the page?? cool
all in all i would look at it, to get ideas as to what the auction has to offer.
you did great
, i would never know where to start!
I think it's a really neat little booklet, but I'm not sure I would take the time to figure it out if I received it in an email. It looks very nice, but I found the pages hard to turn. If I hadn't read here to drag the cursor, I would have never figured it out. The last page was the hardest, but I had to move my cursor back and forth toward the left several times to get the others to turn. I like the darker background better than the white. I think it's a very neat way to showcase your items though!
How'd ya' get the pages to turn? I can not do it.
The front looks beautiful! ![]()
I got the first page to turn, but now I can not get the second one to turn. ![]()
I have broadband...and other than the initial slow load time I was able to pull this up with no problems.
But I agree that find the edge of the white pages were hard to find. But I found that if you hover the mouse around the area where the edge should be the page curls up automatically.
