Okay, so I am going to attempt to take 4 dozen cupcakes, frosting, deco tips, bags, etc and decorations 6 hours in a heat wave with a van that doesn't always want to let the A/C work and 2 kids. Does anyone have a how to on making fondant roses? I have never tried them before, but I thought they might hold up better than royal on my trip. I tried to find it here and on the net, but I am just not capable of doing a good search apparently. Thanks for any help!! Fondant roses are put together by rolling and cutting petals. You have to make and dry the centers to use as a base for the petals. Not hard, but it does take practice. And, fondant can melt in lots of heat.
Royal icing roses will hold up very well. Don't put them onto a buttercream surface too long before serving, it you can avoid it.

Are you talking about the ribbon roses? They are a piece of fondant, folded in half lengthwise, then rolled.

That is called a ribbon rose.
Maybe you can search for instructions, but basically, you roll and cut a long strip of fondant. Fold the fondant in half lengthwise, then roll it up just the way it looks til you get it as big as you like. Couldn't be easier.
If the fondant is very soft, maybe knead in some gumpaste, or gumtex or tylose, or gum tragacanth.
