I need some ideas for my DD birthday cake. Her gift is tickets to Jimmy Buffet and I would like to make a cake with that theme.
My mind is a total blank other than something islandish (is that a word, lol)
She loves Jimmy Buffet and I'm sure would love anything that would reflect this. Thank you to everyone. Debby

I recently made a retirement cake with palm trees around the sides and when my friend saw it, she thought of Jimmy Buffet. I also think a 3-d or flat colorful parrot would be neat. Since it's for a girl, lots of bright colors would be great....tropical flowers, birds, etc..

I don't know his music too well, but maybe some lyrics could inspire you. Like a margarita shaped cake in honor of Margaritaville. Or a cheeseburger shaped cake with a parrot and palm trees and flowers on the top bun for "Cheeseburger in Paradise."

I hope this helps. Please post what you come up with!

lots of ideas spring to mind..

you could do a parrot (parrothead)
or there are several pictures on here of margarita glasses (for margaritaville)

or do a play on her favorite song

an ocean with shark for'fins'
cheeseburger in paradise

beachy/tropical theme

(ps - what a great gift!! she's going to be thrilled!)

What about something not too difficult? Like a gift box and wrap the tickets in plastic then have them either in the box or sticking out and a nice margherita (sp?) next to the box?

cake the looks like the top of a head (say from top of nose up) w/ a big ol' 3-D parrot perched on top (after all the fans are called parrot heads!) -- and the parrot could be holding a margarita.

3-D parrot link:

(originally for pirate, just ditch the eye patch and hat, change sword to margarita.)

Thanks for all the suggestions, I have until the 17th of June so I'll make a decision soon and hopefully post a picture when it's done. I still have to figure out how to post pictures ( or get my kids to do it for me!)
You all had some great suggestions! Thanks Again!
