Are you using crisco on your mat? Dab some crisco on a paper towel, and rub the entire surface of your mat with it. The fondant shouldn't stick then.

I prefer to dust the mat with corn starch rather then Crisco. That way it doesn't get to sticky.

I do both actually. I read some where to but Crisco down on your mat or counter first then dust with powdered sugar or cornstarch.

Works everytime. Just make sure you are generous with the powdered sugar or cornstarch.

I'm with Joanne - cornstarch for me too.

I always roll it out on my counter...always use cornstarch...never sticks...

Well, you are in the east so I'm assuming it humid. I'd use a powdered sugar/corn starch mix if I didn't have a vinyl mat...
