So my DD who is 3 is in a stage where she wants to test her limits and see what she can get away with. this spans out to everything from dressing herslef to refusing to eat and so on. but whats got me today is this morning she covered herslef in pink sharpie. ok no big deal I dont have to be anywhere special in the next couple days I will let it ware off on its own. then just this evening she decieded to while mommy was cooking dinner get into brothers ink pads and cover herslef in ink. she is in the bath shes had a good scrup but it wont come off yet it still rubs off on everything she touches. now my mom who is supermom doesnt know how to get the ink off. so I was hopeing maybe one of you would have a suggestion other than baths and time. thanks in advance. and please tell me im not the only one with a pre-schooler who gets away from time to time. I cant have her in my sights every min isnt she old enough for a little freedom?

Gosh, if it's all over her I don't know if this will work but I always used vasaline & baby oil when my kids used to write on themselves. It takes off ink wonderfully. Baby oil worked faster. All I did was get a rag & put baby oil all over it & rubbed em' down in it icon_smile.gif It worked great getting gum off of them too LOL~ Good Luck!

If the baby oil/vaseline doesn't work, sometimes rubbing alcohol will get ink off of skin, but be careful of any boo boos! Also, hairspray takes ink out of fabric, but I'm not sure on skin. Toothpaste takes food color off my hands, that's worth a shot. I would tend to just let her be, it's really not worth hurting her to get it off. Anyone who sees her will most likely know what happened!!! I had a friend whose daughter heard someone use the term "so & so is half black", so she drew a line down the center of her body (naked) & colored one side black! She wanted to be like so & so. icon_rolleyes.gif

Good luck!

when my kids decided to do the marker thing on them and it was important to remove it by a certain time i broke out the comet lol. yep.. but when it came to ink stains in clothing i used a trick i learned from my mom as a kid.. hairspray. no joke. it works. apply asap but it helps even with dried on ink stains.she learned it from some one else and the tip simply stuck in my brain all these years.

hmm i imagine so it could probably work on skin to. probably better then comet since we use hairspray on our heads and it doesn't bother our skin (most times lol)

Thankyou guys so much for your replys im just getting a chance to come back online now. the pink sharpie and ink blotches are gradually comming off. its getting a lot better anyway a good long swim in the pool today did wonders it must be the chorline. I just have to keep her away from the public because from a distance the huge ink spots that are now all grey and purple look a lot like brusies. icon_redface.gif She has sensitive skin like me so I didnt want to put anything to harsh on her. but the hair spray is a new idea I will have to try for the next time. as im sure there will be a next time. TC I remember now that you have said it my mom used baby oil for everything why didnt I think of that?

i'd be leary on nail polish remover as most are acetate and might actualy cause damage to your clothing depending what type it is. one way to do it is find a hidden place on the fabric or a swatch of same type and do a test run.

oh she would never get it on her clothes she is much to much of a girly girl for that icon_lol.gif she just drew all over her legs and arms and stomach. I guess I will just let it wear off on its own and try to keep them away from her. altough that seems to be impossiable.

oh you mean using nail polish remover on ink on skin? you could try it. unless her skin is already sensitive to polish remover i doubt it will do any harm. not sure what kind of results it will give but you could try it. i'd even give hairspray a try icon_wink.gif

never had to worry bout koolaide much lol when my kids were little we never used koolaide very often. in fact untill they were almost 10 i had used to give them diluted soda. they never knew the difference and for years after they found out they still chose to drink it that way. (yes i knwo watered down soda sounds gross but i was looking to limit extra sugar exposure) now days their normal teenagers but they dont "live" off sugar etc.

boy did i get way off topic lol carry on pay this weirdo no mind
