Can anyone please tell me how to remove 2 year old fondant from the top tier of a wedding cake so that I can cover it with new fondant for Christening Cake? The fondant is rock hard - too hard to just cut through without damaging the cake! HELP???

I take it this is a dummy cake??? is there foam under there or what?? if its foam then you can just run the thing under hot water and it will melt right off...
