Have you already tried Satin Ice?
It seems that most people like the taste of that when I don't have the time to make MMF.

Hi luggi, thats the recipe i've tried and no one seemed to like it. I've heard of maybe putting vanilla extract or almond extract in the recipe. I wonder if that helps.

I buy my Satin Ice from www.intotheoven.com. They're shipping price seems to be the cheapest I have found so far. I have also bought from www.bakedeco.com, but the last time I tried buying from the they're shipping charges seemed a little high even though the Satin Ice is cheaper there.

I usually order mine from ebay. Although the color selection can be some what limited.
Let me know if you need the name of the business on ebay.

Thank you cake princess. Any suggestions on where to get great tasting fondant. I have tried the MMF recipe and alot of people found it to be too sweet. I tried the wilton brand once and that wasn't good either.

I think i'm going to try the Satin Ice product and see how that works.

Has anyone ever tried ChocFondant???

You can also add orange or lemon flavour. These will cut the sweetness.

I add almond extract to mine and it tastes wonderful! I try not to roll it out too thick as well. I sure helps.

I add orange flower aroma to my MMF, it works very lovely together.

If I need fondant pretty quickly, I just buy Wilton, and someone here recommended mixing in some vanill, almond and butter extract (about 1/4 teaspoon ea. per 1 small box fondant); it really does hugely improve the taste.

I have tried the Satin Ice Chocolate fondant and I love it; tastes like tootsie rolls...I am anxious to try the white (vanilla). Bought mine from Beryls...if you buy the tub, be sure to re-bag the contents to store it, my inner bag had a tiny tear and the fondant started to mold...Not Beryls' fault, it was the original packaging.

Good luck!

thanks guys...i just placed an order for satin ice in white, pink and black. I think the key is to have great tasting buttercream underneath and to be sure its rolled out thin. thank you all for your help.

I make my own fondant and often add a tiny bit of almond oil to it. Tastes good.

I buy alot on Ebay, but never fondant.
I guess I never thought to look.
I like Satin Ice. It kinda taste like mmf, but not
as sweet. I roll mine out thin unless there's
chocolate ganache under, then a little thicker.
Satin Ice is the way to go.
