Challenge: Elvis Birthday Cakes
Six cake decorators or pastry chefs compete for 10-thousand dollars in a quest to create the most amazing birthday cake for Elvis. The competition lasts seven hours and the chefs will face three judges.

There is a celebration cake challenge coming up too! The only date I know off hand is July 26th at 9:00pm but there are more. It looks really interesting because they are taking 10 contestants, having them start on a design and then pairing them up! They don't know what the theme is when they start and they don't know who they are getting paired up with! I love when they do that kind of stuff! You can look on Food Networks site for the other dates.

Thanks for posting this as I just saw the tv listing and was going to do the same thing. I've seen the Fire and Ice one but I'm curious about the Elvis one, will be interesting to see!
I've enjoyed both of those challenges. I wish they would show that surprise challenge that Colette won with the fish cake again....... I missed it.
They are starting the new season either this week or next, won't that be fun to watch...... I gotta little thing for Bobby Flay, who doesn't? LOL

Celebration Cakes
Ten chefs, all strangers, pair up in five teams of two. For the first part of the competition, they work separately. Then, in the final two hours, the teams get to work together. Their challenge: to come up with a cake that's worthy of $10,000. Only there's a twist...and it's a big one. The competitors won't find out until minutes before the competition WHO their partners are and WHAT the theme is. This is a competition that tests creativity and cooperation, all under a ticking clock.

It has always been a (secret) dream of mine to be on the food network.....though I have a very, very, very, very long way before that ever happens.

LOL -- well, imagine a camera crew in your kitchen asking you questions every 5 seconds and just waiting to pounce on any mistake. . . . throw in some really hot lights, Mike McCary & Nic Lodge to judge your work, and being so nervous you can barely choke down a sandwich, and there you have it!

I am so happy I ran across you talking about the cake challenge so I could mark your website in my favorites. I just started the whole cake decorating a few months ago and I could only imagine being able to create cakes like you do! You are amazing! Can't wait to see you on T.V.
