Can I use oil based chocolate color in buttercream?

Yes, according to Kaye and Live Hansen from The Whimisical Bakehouse book. "You may also use candy colors to tint your buttercreams if you find that liquid gel colors are not dissolving fully. They come in a far more limited range of colors.......but if you want to limit your investment as you try your hand at woroking with chocolate and tint buttercream as awll, the candy colors are the most versatile"
