I just got home with my new Kitchen Aid Artisan 5 qt. shinny black mixer!!
I am sooo excited! I am throwing dinner together then throwing everyone out so I can PLAY!!
I have a poker table cake and a bowling pin cake with a dozen "bowling ball" cup cakes due for Saturday June 9th plus Course 2 class this week with Royal Icing to make so this baby should make my world a better place!
Just had to share with you guys that have helped me out over the past months--even if you didn't realize it.
Congratulations on your new addition! I am sure she will bring you great joy!! I love mine!!
My KA and I are wonderful friends!!!!!! Best friends for life!!!!
well get off of CC and give her a whirl
Congrats. I am a mommy to 2 KA's and I couldn't live without them!
Congrats and have fun!!! Mine saved my life during cake classes!!
I can't imagine royal icing without the KA now, I've done it before and it is no fun!!! Your life has just taken a turn for the better ![]()
OK--leftovers out of the frig and reheated--paper plates thrown on the counter--Hubby and son have eaten and "dishes done"!! I am about to open the box and behold the wonders of KA!!
.....if I don't reappear in a few days....send the bloodhounds looking for me! LOL!!
So it is now the next morning.... did you sleep good after your wonderful ride with your KA? Fill us in!
MCook,
Are you still glued to your new KA? The first week I got mine, I didn't cook anything unless it could be made in the KA. We ate al lot of mashed potatoes-which are fantastic, cookies, cakes, German dumplings, etc. My husband and I each gained 10 pounds.
Check out the KA board-there are some very informative posts and recipes on it as well as new owners to share the joy and tell what they did!

Have fun and good luck.
I love my KA! I just brought my shiny new baby home at the end of last month. I thought I would never own one, but the tax man made me happy
It certainly has made my life easier!!!
well congrats and we see you're still missing in action. Hope you're having fun.
Congrats! I just got my first KA last week so I know the excitement that you're feeling! Happy Baking!! ![]()
I am alive and well. My hubby pried my hands off my new KA and helped me withdraw to my bed late last night. I read all the material, made copies of the receipt, etc., to mail off for my free slicer/shredder. Then I tried it out!! ( I was a little intimidated so it took me a while to dive in)
I made Royal Icing for my class tomorrow night. Then a batch of Butter Cream for .....something, I hope it keeps for a while-LOL!
IT IS AWESOME!! My poor little antique Hamilton Beach is now retired in a dark corner in the cabinet...sniff, sniff. He will be missed......
Congrats...ain't life grand?? I got my 2nd KA(6qt prof) for mother's day and I love it!! My 1st one (4.5qt classic) I got 18 years ago after I returned all our duplicate wedding gifts and took the money to buy it and it still works great
Well, I didn't get to use my new KA at all on Wednesday. I helped a friend out by babysitting her one month old son. He was "gassy" and fussy so I spent all day holding and rocking him, poor little fellow. Although I really enjoyed doing 'nothing' but rocking a precius little baby--I could hear whispers from the kitchen..." I'm new, I'm waiting to whip up something fabulous for you....Marcia, Marcia....where are you...?"
Today I promised myself to tackle the 'computer/sewing/craft & tredmil room' so I still haven't touched it. I will definately be using it this weekend preparing for the cakes for the following week. I do catch myself just staring at it in awe--I rarely treat myself to such an expensive "toy" for myself. Aren't we women bad about that!? Not spoiling ourselves but willing to buy for others in a heart beat!? Oh, well, I spent MY OWN CAKE MONEY for it so I shouldn't feel guilty! And when I do start feeling those pangs of guilt I just repeat the words--DEER LEASE.
I bet there are some of you on this site who know exactly what those 2 words mean!! LOL!
I got my own KA seven years ago as a bridal shower gift. I grew up using my Mom's (which still works good as new) and had to register for my own. It has to be the best invention ever. I couldn't image living with out it, and you are so right on about us not spending money on ourselves but we will do it in a heart beat for others. Well I'm saving up for a bigger KA and I can't wait to get it. Have fun with your new baby.
Congrats on your little addition..do they have showers for new KA mommys?
