MCook,
Are you still glued to your new KA? The first week I got mine, I didn't cook anything unless it could be made in the KA. We ate al lot of mashed potatoes-which are fantastic, cookies, cakes, German dumplings, etc. My husband and I each gained 10 pounds.

Check out the KA board-there are some very informative posts and recipes on it as well as new owners to share the joy and tell what they did!

Have fun and good luck.

I am alive and well. My hubby pried my hands off my new KA and helped me withdraw to my bed late last night. I read all the material, made copies of the receipt, etc., to mail off for my free slicer/shredder. Then I tried it out!! ( I was a little intimidated so it took me a while to dive in)
I made Royal Icing for my class tomorrow night. Then a batch of Butter Cream for .....something, I hope it keeps for a while-LOL!
IT IS AWESOME!! My poor little antique Hamilton Beach is now retired in a dark corner in the cabinet...sniff, sniff. He will be missed......

Well, I didn't get to use my new KA at all on Wednesday. I helped a friend out by babysitting her one month old son. He was "gassy" and fussy so I spent all day holding and rocking him, poor little fellow. Although I really enjoyed doing 'nothing' but rocking a precius little baby--I could hear whispers from the kitchen..." I'm new, I'm waiting to whip up something fabulous for you....Marcia, Marcia....where are you...?"

Today I promised myself to tackle the 'computer/sewing/craft & tredmil room' so I still haven't touched it. I will definately be using it this weekend preparing for the cakes for the following week. I do catch myself just staring at it in awe--I rarely treat myself to such an expensive "toy" for myself. Aren't we women bad about that!? Not spoiling ourselves but willing to buy for others in a heart beat!? Oh, well, I spent MY OWN CAKE MONEY for it so I shouldn't feel guilty! And when I do start feeling those pangs of guilt I just repeat the words--DEER LEASE.
I bet there are some of you on this site who know exactly what those 2 words mean!! LOL!

I got my own KA seven years ago as a bridal shower gift. I grew up using my Mom's (which still works good as new) and had to register for my own. It has to be the best invention ever. I couldn't image living with out it, and you are so right on about us not spending money on ourselves but we will do it in a heart beat for others. Well I'm saving up for a bigger KA and I can't wait to get it. Have fun with your new baby.
