run smallest tooth side of decorator comb along edge of book to get ridges for pages then paint w/ the gold luster dust mixed w/ lemon extract or vodka

Doug - I don't think I am using luster dust right. How much extract to dust should I be using? And does it have to be lemon extract?

lemon is usually most suggested one around here. vodka works as well...in both cases the alcholo evaporates away..so harmless to little ones.

mix them so it looks like gold paint. mix a little at a time, can always make more and that way don't waste dust. start w/ thinner mixing (ie more liquid than dust) as can always add more but can't take away too much.

Books are very easy do not worry I run an awl or a compass along the sides, see in my photos it works extremely well on dry fondant and the lean hand on a book for height and round I go then again heigher and make the pages like this.
