I have a wedding request for lavender borders and flowers. I know lavender buttercream fades to blue. Does fondant do the same?

Mine did. It turned to an ugly gray...but then I didn't keep it out of the light either. I had no idea that leaving my flowers under a lamp to dry would cause my flowers to fade but it did. You should be fine if you keep them covered until time to add them to the cake. Best of luck!

When I made my mini cakes (in the gallery) my light purple fondant roses faded to blue in a day under floresent lights. I also know sunlight can fade it.

Now I don't know if you use red and blue to make the color if it fades, but it might be something to try and see.

I've had full sun fade lavender in minutes. Does the petal dust fade on gumpaste?

Lavender Petal dust on gum paste does not fade (in my experience.) I also tinted some GP and used it to make roses. I still have one, and it is still lavender.

Cool! Do you remember what brand & color food coloring you used to tint the gumpaste?

I did some lavender fondant roses and saved them, and they faded to a pale grey-white (ick), even out of light inside a glassed-in cabinet in a vase...

If you're doing it, do a trial run first and be sure...a grey cake would be a shame...
