How Do I Create Grass With Frosting?

Could anyone tell me which tip to use and the best technique to create grass on a cake? I am just starting out with cake decorating and have a lot to learn. Do you have a great frosting recipe (not too sweet) you would share with me? Thanks for your help.
I use the hair tip. Sorry I can't remember the #, and mine is hard to read. But it works wonderfully. HTH
Useing the 233 degree tip start from the back an work your way up to the front of the cake. This way you won't mess up the work you already did. Your frosting should be a medium consistancy. If it's too thick it will be hard to get off of the the tip and the grass will keep breaking. If it's too soft it won't stand up. Pull up until you get it the length you want. and then move your hand slightly forward or backword to release the frosting from the tip. If it sticks and won't pull off the tip as it sometime does keep a toothpick handy to scrape the frostig from the tip. Practice on a piece of wax paper (this will allow you to put the frosting back in the bowl so you don't waste any) before you start on the cake until you get the feel of it.
Good luck,
Kat
If you can't get a tip 233 today and you need grass now. Take one ore two piping bags and poke little holes in it and go to town!
