I am an organizing FREAK. I, too, got a rolling kitchen cart...and overflowed it the same day (hey...it was my birthday...I spent my cash on cake stuff icon_biggrin.gif). I have stuff in my cart, two kitchen drawers and some cupboards. And cake mixes stacked in my closet.

I need the little house! We have an acre and a quarter...my DH needs to build me one! I keep telling him I need my own, grownup treehouse.

I am just laughing reading this...I'm glad I'm not the only one with too much stuff and nowhere to put it all.

Thanks ladies for all of the great tips. I am SO unorganized right now, but I am just getting into cake decorating. My hubby got tired of seeing me lug around the wilton 1 caddy, so he bought me one of the black and decker carts on wheels like on page 2, and I've already filled it up. Still need a room for my pans and stuff.

I have a tiny kitchen, no counter space at all, and I don't really have room for a kitchen cart even. I have to do all my stuff on top of the stove. No kitchen table either cause there isn't room. We wouldn't use it anyway to eat on, we sit at our computer desks ( we have his and her computers and desks side by side in the computer room) to eat.

Any more storage suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hmm.. how about shelving? Any space for that? Or, is there another room or closet you could use?

I am SO glad to see that I'm not the only one with "chaos organized" around my cake stuff. My pans, foils, boards, sticky paper, etc. are in the cabinets in the garage (I've taken up 2 whole full wall cabinets now!). Books, magazines, etc. are on a bookshelf. I've taken up 2 of 4 lower cabinets in the kitchen and 2 of the 4 drawers. (Can you believe that they built a kitchen with only 4 drawers -- and they're silverware size at that! I'm not kidding! This house must have been designed by a man!) Not to mention that the tupperware stuff I use takes up 2 of the upper cabinets! Okay, I think I'm a cake decorating junkie at this point!

Anyway, I was just thinking about what to do with all my stuff, and now I"ve got some great ideas! Thanks!

Organizing???

We're artists . . . we aren't SUPPOSED to be organized. It goes against our nature! (at least, that's what I tell my husband!)

I manage an 18 unit apartment building. This gives me the luxury of using a store room next to my unit as cake central. I have two sets of utility shelfs to store cake pans and stuff, as well as a cabinet that I removed from my kitchen to lock certain things out of hungry childrens' sight (Like my chocolate and such). I also have a tall bookcase inside that I store some of my fillings and stuff I use on a regular basis. Oh, since most of the Wilton pans have holes in the rim, I have them all hanging on the wall of the store room.

thanks! and of course it started a chain reaction and i cleaned out and organized all my kitchen drawers, my cupboards. AND THEN..... (ok, no laughing at the poor anal OCD girl here! LOL) I just bought 5 (for $1 each!) 3 ring binders for, one each: cake recipes, icings & fillings, how-tos, patterns and my wilton course books... i love it! Now all those pages i print off here are in there own little plastic sheet protectors all in one place! no more wiping crisco off pages! LOL
