Hello Everyone! My niece has found a wedding cake and has passed it along to our local and well-recommended pastry chef. On this 3 tiered cake are small sized kittens in different positions (climbing the cake) but this chef doesn't seem to know how she can make kittens - Does ANYONE have any ideas or websites on how to make edible kittens/animals or does anyone have any pics of same???

Thank you so much!

Would you be able to post the photo-that might help for others to see what it looks like. Maybe fondant or color flow?

Hmmmmm.....I sounds like they were modeled out of something like gumpaste or fondant. I am kinda surprised that a pastry chef wouldn't know that icon_confused.gif . I don't have any pictures but I am sure that someone else will be able to help you with that.

OK...I just checked the photo gallery here and there are some VERY cute cakes with kitties. You can search the galleries....just type in cats or kittens. Sorry, I am really lame when it comes to computers...I would post the photos here...if I knew how. icon_redface.gif

Hello !
I think I might be able to help. Try to find this book: MAKING SUGAR CATS FOR CAKES.
It is by Susan Griffits. It is one from a series of 'how-to' or technique books for cake decorating. ( I love her work); I purchased mine from Amazon in the UK. It has great photos as well as step-by-step instructions. I hope this helps. Good luck

if they're just 2D cats, you could use color flow i guess. and just 'glue' them to the sides of the cake.
