I was browsing the internet this afternoon for ideas on cookies, when I came upon 'Cookie Decorating Made Easy'. I've heard of 'Cake Decorating Made Easy', but not Cookies.

I think the Cookie video's are cheaper than the Cake video's, but was wondering if they are worth it?

Has anyone seen the Cookie Decorating Made Easy, and if so, is it worth buying (I have no experiencing of decorating cookies)?

Thanks!

I have the Cake Decorating Made Easy DVDs but not their Cookie Dec. Made Easy.

The Cake DVDs were helpful to me.

I am getting alot of my cookie information on here at CC and also books. Another site to check out is kitchengifts.com and view their cookie decorating online videos that are free.

Happy Decorating!

Thought the cookie videos were better than the cake videos. Since there are really no classes to take on cookie bouquets and techniques, this has alot of great tips from how to insert your sticks, to rolling out fondant, making royal icing, piping details, and assembling baskets.

I was scheduled once to take a class in cookie decorating, but it was cancelled due to lack of interest. I was very bummed! I've picked up numberous tips on this website, so I'm back to being happy. I even thought about offering to do a class on cookie bouquets when the local community college was looking for instructors for various crafts. But I thought it was a bit intimidating at the time. Maybe soon, though.

I WISH there were classes on cake decorating, cookies and candy making around here. Just something icon_cry.gif The nearest course is at a Michael's an hour away and the instructor is terribly grumpy.

If I ever get good enough, I want to teach classes thumbs_up.gif

The same thing happened to me...I signed up to take the cookie blossom class and not enough interest...I found this site and with all the great information I taught myself and have been making them since about Christmas time. Who needs classes with all the great people on here that shares their skills! icon_biggrin.gif

I've just checked the cookie and cake websites. They are both on offer at the moment for $37.77 for each volume, (there's 2 volumes for cookies, and 2 volumes for cakes) or only $57.77 for a set of volumes. The volumes usually sell for $47.77 each.

I saw their cookie videos, but do they have cake videos too? I thought they did but not at that link. Does anyone have a link with all their videos?

So, for those of you who have these materials, do you think they were worth the investment? They look good, but I'd hate to invest without hearing from you!

Thanks,
Kathi

The site for the cake videos is cakesmadeeasy.com
I have the advanced/intermediate level cake videos, and think the cookie ones are pretty good too. I got them as a gift, and thought they were worth it. They are nice, b/c when your technique gets sloppy, or you forget how you did something exactly, you can go back to the books, or the video, and have the instruction at your hands, unlike in classes.
Hope that helps. Happy decorating!
