Today is my first time doing a frozen buttercream transfer. It stayed in the freezer for a few hours, so I took it out to look at it and it broke. icon_sad.gif Can anyone tell me how I can fix it? It is a jaguar and it pretty much broke in a straight line chopping of its head and front legs. Any help would be MUCh appreciated!! Thank you in advance!!!

Maybe you could let it thaw and press it back together. Then take a think layer of bc the same color as the background of the cake will be and cover the entire fbct. Put it back into the freezer for an hour or so.

I always was my hands in cold water befor removing the fbct from the freezer because it will thaw fast!!! Remove from the freezer and flip out on the cake immediately. It will probably have a seam where the break was but let it thaw on the cake and you will be able to mend the broken limbs.... HTH

Use a very soft bristled paint brush and gently "paint" over the seam. The frosting should blend back together. Something I tried last weekend worked too. I broke my transfer and I used the paint brush and then waited for it to dry and crust a little. I used a peice of viva paper towel and layed it over the transfer. I then did the Melvira method with the foam brush over that--only going up and then down. Removed the paper towel and it was good as new.

Maybe there is a topic on this somewhere, but how do you do a frozen buttercream transfer? I had never heard of doing one until reading posts on this site.

I used a combination of what CherylAnn said, I added more icing to the back and froze it again. I made sure to have the paper cut smaller closer to the picture so it was not in my way when I transfered it. You have to be very fast otherwise is will melt in your hands.

Just like birdgirl said. I then fixed the top with a small portion of viva towel and a small brush, once it crusted and you could not tell the Diego in my pics had lost his head!
