I would not get a refurbished unless it has a warranty(sp?) like the new ones. It is a lot to waste if it dies soon when you could get a new one for $40 more. If it does come with the manufacture warrenty I would do it but check shipping costs! It is big and heavy so they might get you with that. Enjoy which ever one you get, it is worth paying full price!

Don't jump on the first one you see on Ebay either-there will be 50 more like it in the next month and several are free shipping.

I know it's a bit different, but my refurbished six disc cd player from Pioneer is still working 12 years later!

I don't know that I would buy refurbished off of Ebay. However, there is a store called "Kitchen Collection" which is also online that sells refurbished Kitchen aids. You migth want to take a look at that as well, maybe compare what you are getting between the two.

Good luck. I love my Artisan!

In general, a refurbished mixer (or any other thing that can be refurbished) has been double checked and repaired (if necessary) and cleaned up for resale. I think of it as almost better than new, because any bugs or problems it might have originally had have been corrected. I'd buy a refurbished KA in a heartbeat, if the price was reasonable (or cheap!) and it had a warranty. Beware of shipping costs on heavy items though, you might not save any money if you have to pay big shipping costs.

Good Luck!

i was doing a search online for this and the info i found was a couple of years old i think but it seemed like the warranty was not long i think 6 months. some people ended up having problems with them. i guess it's the luck of the draw. i'm still considering it.

manya

KA site has refurbished and outlet. refurb they give warranty for six months as opposed to 1 yr with a new one or an outlet one. I recently bought one in their outlet, i saved 70 dollars compared to Kohl's. I was able to get the free attachments with the promotion from last month. you can't do that w/the refurb.

I don't have any advice on the refurbished ones, but here's a link to a brand new KA for $135.00 ...the only color on sale is the red one...

After a lot of worrying about whether the refurbished would be quality, I got a 6 qt refurbished KA in March. It came with a 6 month warranty and the only blemish was a small scratch inside the bowl. I absolutely love mine but definitely would not have been able to afford a brand new one in the same model or anywhere close to that model. Mine is quite a work horse and (so far) has been worth every penny. I wouldn't hesitate to get any of KA's refurbished appliances now - just MHO.

My mom and dad just got me one for my birthday from amazon. It is a Professional 5 plus. It was 199.00, but with some other promotional discounts it was 175 plus free shipping. I guess the MFRP was around 400.00. It looked brand new to me, and has been working great. It does have a 6 month warranty too.
