I love all of the ideas. I don't have any to add. Just wanted to remind you, no matter what you choose to do, be sure to post a picture. Can't wait to see which idea you use.Good luck. icon_rolleyes.gif

Well, these ideas are all hilarious! LOL

Just to clarify, we aren't so much celebrating as we are just having fun. One of the guys is just a big jerk and basically threw my friend, her kid and their kid out on the street. The other one (my BIL sadly) cheated on my SIL with her sister.....while her sister was asleep! icon_confused.gif So we are just trying to lighten up some horrible situations.

I have started considering just doing something about friendship, since that really is why we are all getting together in the first place. I'll let ya'll know what I decide to do.

Ok, here's a thought....

Stick with the tiers and put 2 women on the top tier with the grooms upside down, feet sticking up out of the icing.

Along the sides of the top tier, put women circling around with their arms up over their heads. Maybe the women could be fondant cut outs? or painted on somehow? This part would be hard, depending on your ability.

Around the bottom tier, have different quotes of friendship/ support written. You can find many quotes about the subjects with Google. I like Maya Angelou quotes, personally.

I love the idea of a friendship cake!

There is a wonderful quote from Maya Angelou, "when you know better, you do better". This is my mantra in everything I do. That's what made me divorce husbum 1. I knew better, so I DID better icon_smile.gif

well, I think that all these ideas are great. But I do like the idea of friendship and a little less man bashing (trust me I am all for it when my hubby ticks me off). I thought "when one door closes another opens, So i thought of two wedding toppers at the bottom facing out, set your cakes off to the sides with two women climbing up the "stairs" toward a door (that is slightly open). I would probaly write somthing along the line of the saying along the sides.
See this way it is still women power and not bashing the marrage, because at one time or another they were "in love" and divoce wasn't even in their thoughts. Hey it's a new chapter and their might be someone at the party that is still married and all for marrage and could feel ofended by the man bashing.

That is also another idea, a book with women on the edge of the book trying to change the page with the words "New chpter" or "Chapter 2" on the page that they are standing on. Using a sheet pan or the book pan for the book. on the previous page something along the way of "and it became final on (date)"

Hope I was of some help.
Good luck.

Even though I though the ideas are immensley funny I think its wrong to fall into the stereotype of the money/house/car grabbing women... yes I think people get what they deserve in the end in most cases, but it should more about the future opportunities and not so much about the past IMHO...

Along with a great cake... If either of them gets the car that was his, tell them to get a personal tag for the rear that reads- WAS HIS... I saw that in a picture once and thought... Hmmmm! Sure would be a way to keep his britches in a wad !!! I strongly dislike the word divorce -been through it and hope to never have to again icon_sad.gif Good Luck with keeping the Weekend Alive with Laughter icon_biggrin.gif

Speaking from experience...I surely could have used one of these cakes when I went through it all. And believe me...mine was totally worth celebrating since it was an abusive and unfaithful marriage...not to mention he got another woman pregnant and ran off with her!

Anyways...I say do whatever will make these gals laugh...I am sure they need to smile.

My idea is probably not as good as some of the others...but...I picture a 2 or 3 tier cake...with black accents...I like the idea of breaking a bride and groom topper. Maybe also accent with some black silk roses.

Hope they enjoy the party! icon_biggrin.gif
