So I am writing a web page for my final project in web design class this quarter and I'm writing it for what I hope to be my cake decorating/candy making business soon. and i've thought the name was going to be cake for cecilia for a long time. and the other day my boyfriend asked my why are they buying cakes for you, shouldn't it be cakes from cecilia? i said well cakes from "names" is over used but he thinks it sounds better. So i've been thinkin, should i change it to cakes from cecilia, keep it at cake for cecilia, or change it completely to cecilia loves cake?

Soooo help!!! i need some opinions here.

thank you

I like "Cecilia Loves Cake". It's different, not the usual "Cakes by X", and it tells everyone up front that you love doing cakes! I kind of agree with your boyfriend, "Cakes for Cecilia" doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

I don't like to burst your bubble Cecilia but I think your boyfriend is right. Cake for Cecilia just isn't right to me. But here's another suggestion - Cake BY Cecilia. If you really want to keep your name in there I think BY is more designer-ish than the boring little word 'from'. Then again, I am no English expert icon_lol.gif Good luck!

Ok, my first language is french and people always tell me why is french backwards. Well sometimes, I think english is backward.

So I will take the backward look at this one:
If you think cakes by cecilia is overused, then how about:

Cecilia's cake for you! Cecilia's cake just for you! or something like that

Sorry I agree with everyone .... "Cake for Cecilia" does not work, even for me!

If you have a background in another language, you could use "Gateaux de Cecilia" or "Cecilia's Gateaux" or some other language depending on where you live.

Or how about your sign in name "Cecilia's Love for Cakes Bakery"

Ok, time for some shut eye. Not sure that last one made sense!

Good Luck.

Since you are selling cakes and candy....maybe you shouldn't limit the name to just cakes....maybe something like "Sweets Designed by Cecilia" or "Cecilia's Sweets" Good Luck thumbs_up.gif

How about "Cecilia's Confections" short and to the point. You want something they can remember.

It's not just that "Cakes for Cecilia" doesn't sound good, it grammatically doesn't make sense the way you are trying to use it: "for" and "from" are not interchangable--they are antonyms.

I understand that you are trying to come up with a name that is different, but this name would be confusing to your potential customers.
