Ok, my buttercream is sweating a little bit and I wanted to put the 3 tier stacked cake with fondant accents and a fondant loop bow in the refrigerator overnight. Can I do this? We it effect the fondant?

PLEASE HELP! icon_cry.gif

fondant isn't the best thing to put in the fridg. I have seen several posts on here about certain kinds of fondant that are okay in the fridg. Satin Ice I believe was one of them.

I have also seen a suggestion that if you raise your temp in the fridg, it would be alright.

I have never done this but several people have said it was alright. That if it sweats, it dries out.

I know I am not giving you a forward answer but depending on what type you used and if you could raise your temp, you might be alright. Why are you wanting to put it in the fridg anyway? the fondant seals your cake and icing and you should be fine.

It is not completely covered in fondant it just has accents and a loop bow. The cake are covered in Buttercream and the buttercream is sweating a little so I was hoping putting it in the frig would help with the buttercream sweating.

I always put all of my cakes in the fridge-even with fondant accents, and have never had a problem.

If you are in a humid area, then you will have more sweating than a dry area... I am dry and fridge my fondant cakes all the time with little sweating. Do it if you need to and just make sure you let the sweat dry without touching it.
