What's wrong with it?? It is cute! It's a bootie-supposed to be plain and adorable. You have done that!

I think it is precious, but if you're not happy, could you trim the front edge a little? I think that might make it better. I really don't think it is as bad as you think. It is definately better than I could have done!

I can't see anything wrong with these cute baby shoes. What is it that you are not happy with? I think they are lovely!

I think they are too precious but I see what you mean about them falling down. Did you make them from fondant? Maybe try making them from either gumpaste or a 50/50 fondant/gumpaste and stuff them with cotton balls coated with cornstarch to help hold their shape.

thank you - you are all too kind!
I bought the cutter from country kitchen. I used all fondant - wilton at that.
I didn't add any gumpaste or gumtex to make it stronger. It's still drying, i did put some cotton balls inside. (thanks for the tip on adding cornstarch!) Before taking the pic i had things on both sides holding it up so it would hold it's shape.
My biggest issue and what i'm not happy about is the edges, how do i attach the bottom w/out looking like that? I can't really cut it cause it seems like the top is bigger than the sole. Unless i'm not doing it right.
Your help and wonderful words are very much appreciated!! thanks!

I would trim the edges too it looks like you pressed the creases too much, I did the same thing on my baby booties,

I have found that when I get that "lip" on my baby booties, it's because the fondant is either too thin or too soft. It needs to be thick and somewhat firm to keep from rolling in on itself at the bottom. The one time I made them with gumpaste I had a terrible time with this happening. When I use MMF it doesn't happen nearly as much. I just roll it about 1/8 thick, and when I'm laying the top piece on the "sole", I keep my finger inside the toe and keep gently pulling up while I use my other hand to press the edges together. Then I stick cotton balls in it to help it dry. Am I making sense?

Yes, I think you pressed the edges too firmly. I use vanilla extract as my "glue"...but sparingly and gently press it in place. I think it looks pretty good though.

Instead of glueing the toe piece on top of the sole, I wrap it around the front edge of the sole. Not sure if you understand what I am trying to say but perhaps you can look at this Full Month Cake which I made last year.
