Hi everyone, quick question, does anyone know where I can purchasing a storage container to who a 16X3 inch round cake and a 14X3 round cake as well. I will be traveling approximately 6 hours and can't afford my cake going bad or falling apartment. The cake will be solid frozen for several days prior to traveling the 6 hours. I am just looking where to purchase a few sturdy and well insulated stroform containers with thick insulated walls with top lid. I plan on pulling ice packs in the insulated container. Greatly appreciate your efforts and time. Have a nice day. icon_smile.gif

if crafty ---

go to Home Depot or Lowes....

home insulation dept.

get some of the blue (better) or white (ok) foam insulation sheets...

have at them w/ craft knife and lots of TAPE (as in duct/duck) to custom make size you need.

if can find big enough moving boxes (check UHaul) -- can wrap the insulation around those or even line the insides.

(warning -- even low temp glue guns will melt the foam)

and dry ice a much better choice to keep cakes frozen longer and harder

Hi Doug, thank you for the information, greatly appreciate your help. The dry ice route is probably what I will end up using, hopefully it won't weigh a ton especially when taken it to post office. Thanks again Doug. Have a good day.
