I'm sorry I bought mine. They are a little expensive. I just don't like using it. I can make better pearls on my own.

From what I've read on a few of the posts, it seems that most people don't like the pearl molds and that they'd rather roll their own by hand. Many said they make them while they're watching TV. Personally I haven't used them so I can't say.

lilthorner:
I have the 4mm and the 6mm molds (flexible, silicone type). At first, I had a heck of a time dealing with them: too much fondant in the mold; sticking; etc.
A friend of mine went to an ICES convention last year in FL and learned to put the mold into the freezer for about 5 minutes and the fondant comes out easier.... So I tried this "trick" and low and behold, it worked! icon_smile.gif
The only problem I find with the molds are the length. For a larger size cake you have to make several to fit around the diameter of course and then deal with covering the seams.
Depending on the size of your cake, I wouldn't go any smaller than a 6mm for a border.

I would say 8mm...I use the blue silicone molds from CK Products because they are 3D and are great for making individual pearls. The first impression molds are wonderful too but they have a flat side which make gluing to the cake easier but the downfall is they aren't good for making individual pearls or if you are wanting a more 3D looking pearls.
