I would love to make some cupcakes with tootsie roll or starburst flowers. My questions are 1) how far in advance can I make them? ,
2) how do I store them? 3) Do they melt or dry out if you make them ahead of time?

Any helpful hints are appreciated.

Thanks,
Cindy

well, since it may differ depending on where you live, why not unwrap some of the candies and try storing them (some in tupperware, some on the fridge, etc.) and see how they do?

I made these flowers last night and left them at room temp and this morning they were back to normal hardness. I think they would be fine left out but covered because its candy and candy stays for a long time. (thats what hubby said). Its usually just in a paper wrapper so just cover it up and it should be fine.

Thanks. I will give it a try. It makes sense that they could sit out loosely covered but things do not always work the way the makes sense to me!

Keep it stored away from children, pets, and hungry hubbies or you will have no roses for your cupcakes..LOL Those would be more tempting to my family than a buttercream rose icon_lol.gif
