O.K....I did something stupid...I was making a cake for my niece's graduation ( polka Dot Graduation Cake posted here today) and while I'm really happy with the way it turned out, I did something really stupid! I colored my MMF black and didn't wear gloves! I have REALLY TINY hands, and NO gloves fit me, so I usually don't wear them when using dyes. Well, the black washed off, but now my hands are bright pink fromt heblack coloring! I normally wouldn't mind, but the party for which I made the cake is TONIGHT!...lol...is there anything that will get it off? I of course tried washing with soap & water, and tried lemon juice, but nothing. You shoudl see it when I go outdoors! LOL...nice, huh? Any suggestions?

I just saw your cake for your neice's graduation - wow! It's beautiful!! You did a wonderful job!!

As for the stained hands, I think there was a thread going just a few days ago about the same thing...I will search and see if I can find it for you.

I use bleach and that get's the majority of it off. I have also used clorox clean -up, that works too. Then I just re-wash in dish soap. It works for me and doesn't irritate my hands or anything.

Try the Mr Clean erasers. You can buy the in the cleaning supply aisle. They look like sponge. You'll be amazed!

I have used washing powder just put a bit on your hands and then wet them and rub against the colour or you can try salt or sugar on soapy hands - basically anything gritty helps get the colour off.

I've tried the mr. clean magic erasers - but they did not work for me that well. I finally got the pink off with that orange stuff made for washing grease off of mechanics hands. My dh had some in the garage and it worked great for me.

I spray my hands with Formula 409 cleaner. It works great, is very gentle and takes the color right off! I figure if I can clean with it without wearing gloves, I can spray it right on my hands and then wash them. Some spots around my nails needed a little nailbrush action, though.

Good Luck! thumbs_up.gif

I have used my husbands industrial strength go-jo hand cleaner. It's made to remove printer's ink and grease. It's also easy on hands due to moisturizers. Good Luck!!
