Got A Crazy Idea..think It'll Work?

I know this sounds crazy, but do you think I can use this as a color spray?
I was thinking of filling my perfume bottle after there will be no more perfume in it.lol with liquid food coloring and to use it as a color spray on icing. Do you think it will work? ![]()
In my attachment i'll show you how the bottle is. Has anybody tried this?
There will always be perfume residue in the spray... I would not use it if it has been used for perfume.
Sorry to tell you, but been there and it does not work. I used a food grade spray bottle, which when I tested it looked like it would work.
Well you really need the arosol. I was desperate once, nobody had black spray anywhere. I tried it, and it did not work. I had to color my icing. What a mess.
I wont do that again, now if you are looking for the blob look, that is what you will get.
Good Luck.
I would also get a new bottle, I am sure a clean spray bottle is easy to come by. I guess I dont know if it would work, I guess it would depend on the look you are going for. I think it would be like little spots, which might be cool for some themes.
Even if I could get an even spray, I definitely would not use a bottle that once contained perfume or any other non-edible product. You never know what residue is left behind and the last thing you'd want is to make anyone sick. You can get all kinds of plastic bottles at most dollar stores.
I don't think you will get the smell or taste out of a perfume bottle but how about one of those pump up oil bottles PChef, They look like they might work. just a thought.
I,too, would think that the plastic parts would have absorbed the perfume.
I think it would work.
I would mix the color with gin or vodka or Everclear to make it quick drying.
Is there anything in perfume that is toxic? OMG, I mean really...we spray this on our skin.
What if you soaked all the parts in lemon juice....it gets odors like fish and garlic out of the cutting boards...
You could try the Preval sprayers sold on Ebay. Duff uses them. I bought two but haven't tried them yet.

There are things we put on our skin that are toxic to ingest. Look at bleach, cholorine is toxic but while it makes your hands a mess you don't HAVE to use gloves.
As for perfume there are many toxic flowers out there.
I don't know if there is anything toxic in the perfume. Actually it's a body spray, so it's not extremely perfumed, the only thing that they say is to avoid eye contact. But isn't there any way of getting rid of the residues? I would like to find a new bottle, but here in Romania I haven't seen bottles like this without containing something and it's hard for me to get an arosol from the internet since I don't work yet and I don't have a visa card. So, you don't think there is any chance for me to use this... ![]()
I wouldn't go through the trouble of cleaning and deordizing it...
they are so cheap....dollar store, walmart....anywhere pretty much has them for less than a buck.
buuuuuuuuuuuut if you just didn't want to part with the bottle...
may I suggest steeping some fresh rosemary or lavendar and filling it with the liquid and keeping it in your fridge.....Summer is fast approaching and it makes a nice cooling body spritzer ![]()
I agree with the others. Even though it might be hard for you to find something else - I would never take the chance on this. I think you could try it just to see if it works, before purchasing an empty bottle somewhere. But I would not take the chance on feeding anyone something that had a non-edible product in it before.
Obviously, this is not what you're looking for but other might like the idea. Last night my grandmother showed me what she used for an airbrush. She has the little gun, or whatever you call it, the thing with the trigger where, "sprayer". Anyway, she used a pump from a waterfall. They usually come with a clear hose and she hooked the hose from that pump straight to her sprayer. Worked great and it's so much cheaper.
Thank you for your answers everyone. Of course I wouldn't use something that would harm somebody, so I guess I'll try to look for an empty bottle somewhere.

I bought this in home depot and tried it on my turkey cake. it worked great!!! it was really easy to work with and great results.... but it's also one of those "not good on foods" products. I know i've seen duff use it too. Just putting it out there cause eventually someone else will. ;o)
