This is probably dumb, but when people say 50/50 mix, does that mean 50% gumpaste and 50% fondant or is there some product they call 50/50?

They mean half fondant and half gumpaste

50/50 has the advantage of drying more quickly than straight fondant, but gives you a bit more time than straight gum paste.

I like 50/50 gumpaste/fondant when making flowers and other decorations because I like the strength of GumPaste and the texture of Fondant..I find pure Gumpaste, a bit grainy and has a dull finish..Fondant is very smooth, but not as strong as gum paste icon_smile.gif

Hate to add a question to a question.

But do you all recommend making or buying your gumpaste?

and

Can you use it with MMF?

Thanks in advance

The already made gumpaste from wilton is great! I have always made mine - but I won't anymore.
