What do you think are the 5 borders decorators should learn first? I'm looking for ideas to give my class. So far, I'm think shell (of course), reverse shell, beads and zig-zag (which I'm not completely sold on), I'm looking for some input as to what you think some good borders would be for beginners.
I'm a bit burnt-out with a lot going on, and so my heads a bit foggy. I wanted more than 3 solid borders, so I'm looking for at least 2 more. I value your skills and opinions. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I think ruffles are fun. I also do a border I call a stretched shell that's even easier than the regular shell. It might be a good one for beginners. You can see it on this cake.

I am SO going to recommend this site to my class. This has been so wonderful for me, and I'm completely addicted to the forums (it's horrible)! I should be in bed right now, but here I am typing away!
Lisa, I love that border. I will definately bring it up! Thank you!
Anymore ideas would be much appreciated.
How about rosettes??
I love how they look, but can't seem to do them well! ![]()
Sorry, here are the rosettes' link:

What about the rope border that they teach in class 2 wilton!! I kinda like the look!!
The borders that you mentioned are the ones my instructor taught us during the first course so I think you are set.
I love the rope border kiddiekakes! It's one of my favorite ones. I also like doing a border w/ tip 32. I love the way it looks when you make a shell w/ it.
I still can't get the rosette down! It frustrates me so everytime I try it!! Somethings just take longer to figure out then others.
