I got a phone call Saturday morning that my Wilton Course I was cancelled because only 2 people signed up icon_cry.gif The instructor said she will try again for July.

So I made this cake to feel better! Didn't do much with the top of the towers, took me 4 hours to decorate. The purple photographs as blue [?]

Thanks for looking!

Very Cute. And good for you for not letting the cancellation stop you from decorating!

Great job. Very pretty cake. Hope you get to take the classes. I would love to, but I love in such a rural area, there are none close by.

Anyway, I would love to see what you can do after you take classes, because this cake is so good, you will be fabulous !

That is GREAT ! thumbs_up.gif How long have you been decorating? Did you create this on your own? 4 hours? that's fast! It took me a whole day to decorate the Pink Panther. I'm working on building up speed icon_razz.gif

I had that problem with being the only one signed up and had to wait a few months icon_sad.gif

Thanks. I started decorating in April. I saw some of the castle cakes here and just felt like doing one. I didn't make any sketch, just winged it. I did read about piping the tip 12 balls on the towers and smooshing them with a Viva.

Yeah, I hope the class comes together in July.

icon_surprised.gif Wow!! And you just started in April, that's crazy!!! Why do you even need to take the classes, you are doin pretty good just winging it already!! I live in a small, small town and would have to drive somewhere out of town to take the classes, so what I've learned has mostly come from books and this site!! I kinda like being self taught! You've got some talent though, keep up the good work! thumbs_up.gif

You did a great job. When I signed up for the Wilton 3 class I was the only one. The instructor went ahead and taught me instead of waiting for more people to sign up. It was nice having one on one with the instructor. I hope you get to take your classes soon.

frog80: I have learned a ton from this site too. It's so addictive! I want to take the classes for some stucture I guess...and to meet other decorator wannabies. LOL

sprtd76: I would LOVE to be the only student. I asked her if it could just be the 2 students and she said Wilton frowns on that. grrrr.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. icon_smile.gif

Well, good luck anyways! From the looks of things you don't really need it! thumbs_up.gif

What a cute cake!! Great job. thumbs_up.gif Sorry your class was cancelled, that would stink. Maybe you could recruit some friends to take it with you. Might be a way to get the enrollment up. icon_wink.gif

I used royal icing to glue the bottoms of 2 small ice cream cones together, then attached the sugar [pointy] cones on top of that with royal icing too. thumbs_up.gif

mbalis, It's gorgeous! I love how you did the towers. Great! I, too, can't believe you are signing up for Wilton I when you have so many techniques already!
