color flow dries shiney and royal has a matte finish....just used in class and the color flow has a nasty egg smell to it just my personal opinion because i cant stand the egg smell

The two are used for different decorations. I use royal for flowers, also I didn't like the taste of royal icing, so instead of just water I substitute 1 tablespoon each of vanilla and butter flavoring (makes the end product taste much better)(but the wet royal icing is not tasty). I have used color flow for flat one sided designs never for flowers.

You can do a color flow with royal icing but it is not as shiny as the mix way before they had the mix people flowed royal icing.... I have no idea what makes it shiny
