I am in the middle of doing this cake fro baby shower and need some advice. This is what I have done so far. The dotted lines on the top are going to be very tiny/pale lines to make the top look quilted- this is supposed to llok like pottery barn kids cottontail friends bedding.

What kind of border should I put on the top of the cake?? I'm exhausted and need to finish this cake in the next hour or so, so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I don't think you need one.

How about using the grass tip and making a green grass border? Or use the same tip to make sort of a blanket fringe border? Maybe in a soft sage green color?

if you think you need one. How about grass on the bottom and clouds for the top?

I don't think you need a border!! icon_smile.gif

But if you really feel like you need one, I think you should the grass tip and make a fringe like you would find on a real quilt. That would look really cute! HTH icon_smile.gif

personally, I don't think you need a border. It is pretty the way it is, you have the decor, on sides of cake. I think if you add a border it would just be to much. JMO

Oh my goodness! It looks just like it! I agree, it doesn't really need a border, perhaps just a small snail trail in the same dark green color just to finish it. Can't wait to see the final picture with the quilting!

I think the fringe look would be nice - but even if you didn't do anything else - WOW!! I looks great!

Okay, so I thank you all for your advice and expertise- I went with the fringe border as my edges were really not very smooth and I needed to cover some large flaws that didn't show in the photo- not sure what I was thinking when I did the quilting on top- my lack of sleep and total exhaustion today made me do solid lines- hope I didn't ruin it too much!!
Thanks for the help- here's the finished product- hope they like it.
