I've been searching and searching for the thread I found indicating what changes to make when using chocolate cake mix in the traditional WASC recipe. Sorry to ask when I know it's been repeated so many times! icon_redface.gif

I used DH cake mix.

Follow the mixing directions for WASC, but use six whole eggs, the amount of oil and water indicated on DH box x 2 (the rest of the ingredients stay the same).

There are also other variations:

Thank you!! You mentioned to 'use the amount of oil & water indicated on the box x2".

Is that x2 per box in the recipe? Or x2 per whole recipe (using 2 boxes)?

An easier way to say this might be: use the amount of oil and water indicated on the box, for each box used.

If you use the WASC recipe as written it calls for two boxes of cake mix.

Jan you are always sooo helpful!! thank you so much for this. now i'll have to wait til tomorrow to read up on it. someone pointed me to this link, i was asking about making something similar with chocolate cake. Now i have tried the WASC for the second time and i'm loving it. I made a few changes on the taste though.
