My best friends birthday is on Friday the 23rd. She loves to drink apple martinis. I want to make her one as a surprise.....and I want to make it (EXTRA SPECIAL) to kinda put her on the spot
. I am new to cakes so I'm really gonna need my hand held on this one. I have no clue where to start and have no clue of what I should do.
Please help me figure out something.

MissJ, I'm a newbie as well, with my first attempt at a cake being this week - I just picked up pre made & pre coloured fondant at Michaels. My suggestion to you is go to the galleries and look at all the different types of cakes they have on there. You'll find something you like and then run with it. Good luck!
You could make a cake shaped like a martini glass, color the frosting the appropriate color for the drink. Leave the stem and a small rim at the top white or whatever color you want the glass to be. As for the cake flavor....maybe you can find a recipe that will allow you to flavor it with the ingredients of the drink. I don't really have one for ya....just tossing out ideas off the top of my noggin. Hope it was at least a little help.

LOTS of martini-styled cakes!
Good luck
