hi all,
i was wondering, what would be the best way to do a guitar cake? i'm not really concerned with the deco part of it , i'm not sure if i should carve it out of one big cake or if i should try to build it from smaller ones ( two half circles, a square) any input here would be appreciated. i have 2 orders for guitar cakes in the next month.
thanks!

Wilton does have a guitar pan, if you don't want to take the time to carve one....

I did one for a 40th birthday:

I used double layer 9x11in and 8in square and carved the body to resemble the guitar of the recipient it served 35-40, hope that helps!

I did the same thing as bonjovibabe, I baked a two layer 11x15 pan. Then I drew a teplate of what I wanted the guitar to look like then carved it out. I think it turned out pretty good. Mine was an electric guitar. It is in my photos if you want to see it. Good Luck!

I used Wilton's guitar pan, it made things much easier.

There is a picture in my photos if it helps.

I used a Wilton guitar pan too. It was my second cake ever. In my photos as well. I don't trust myself yet to be able to carve a guitar shape out of cake!
