My wilton teacher said she always uses Duncan Hines cake mix. Is there a big difference between duncan hines and the others like bettery crocker, etc.?

Thanks,
~Heather

It's personal preference. I use BC because I can't get DH around here. I won't buy Pilsbury. Other people say they have great results with Pilsbury and hate DH or BC. You should try them all and decide what you like.

I agree, see what works for you!! Personally, i really like DH and I don't really like BC but i'll use it if I have too. As for Pilsbury, I only use certain flavors.

I have tried all of them, DH my favorite and I usually buy 10 cases at a time and I always put sour cream in all of my cake batter. I especially like the DH butter gold and it seems that they are always low on that flavor and that is why I buy so much at one time.

Know what? I seriously have never noticed a difference, except for our local store brand yellow cake. I won't use that one, but to me, the others are all the same.

I agree. I can't tell much difference in DH and BC, but Pillsbury is the pits! The cake never rises evenly with PB.

JackFrost, I like the idea of adding sour cream to a cake mix, how much do you add?

I, too use DH or BC. I have used Pillsbury, but only for the flavorst that the other 2 don't have - and even then I've tried to turn one of theirs into the flavor I want!
