How do I pipe them? Lily of the valleys.

Either I am overlooking them in my books, or something... I google piping lily of the valley and come up a little short on instructions.

Help appreciated.

ps: In the cake decorating area, are they consider "difficult" in any way?

look in my cake section. i think i have a cake posted with them on the sides, if not, i'll double check and post one in my gallery. the top of the cake says "lily" they're very easy, used about a size 3 tip for the actually flower and i think about the same for the stems.

Thanks... I searched and found some photos...

Sadly, I'm looking for verbal instructions.. lol

Searching wilton site as well as a few others.... It appears if you take a course in Ohio from a state college, COURSE II, you can learn hwo to pipe lily of the valleys.

Also, noticing there are different versions of the piped flower.

Thanks for the comment and any future comments made by cakecentral peers.

Need all the help I can get.

If you have The Cake Bible or access to it, there are fairly detailed instructions.

Wilton has many instructions for how to pipe flowers. Here is one:

I use a tip 81 for the flowers, 67 for the leaf and a 2 for the stem and stamens. Hold the 81 steady and the bell shaped flower will form with gentle pressure. I learned from the Wilton website instructions.
Hope that helps icon_biggrin.gif
