Hi, all! I have two questions about a cake I'm making for my daughter's birthday.
1. Her party is not until next weekend, so I'd like to know if it's too early to assemble the gum paste bow that I want to place at the top of her cake? It's going to be the loopy bow and will be held together with candy melts.
2. I am dusting/painting the gum paste accents/bow with a white dust to brighten the gum paste (I did not tint the gum paste, so it's a pasty white). I can't figure out what to do for a border, though. I was originally going to use white BC for the border, but since it's a bright white), I don't think that would look very good with the gum paste accents since they're not a bright white. I thought about making balls out of gum paste and dusting those for a border, but since there's going to be small children at the party, I didn't think that would be such a good idea (choking hazard) since they're not really edible. Any ideas on this one?!
I welcome ANY ideas and suggestions!!!!!!!!!!!!!

by all means, start the bow now. As for the decorations, the buttercream will be slightly different, but it probably won't be that noticeable.
Gumpaste can be eaten, it is just sugar and hardeners. It just is NORMALLY not eaten because it has no flavoring.
