had to think quickly on how to save a cake today.I had a small spot in the center of a sheet cake that just was odd - heavy and dense (but cooked). I had baked the extra batter into 6" rounds, so i just cut out the "bad" bit with a large biscuit cutter and slipped a cutting of the new cake in its place.
Anyone else do this?
Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...........be very quiet...yes, I have. Don't tell anyone! (oops...does this count as telling anyone?)
Isn't it great when you're able to fix an "oops"?
My aunt used to put twinkies in her messed up spots on her white cakes and ding dongs in her chocolate cakes. No one ever noticed...lol.
I've done this too! No one can ever tell, but it's stressful til I know it's fixed.
Karen...we went to Oak Island for vacation last year! We have two little boys and loved that we could spread our stuff out for what seemed like 50 yards on the beach. We are trying North Myrtle this year, but have a feeling we'll be headed back to Oak Island next year.
I love the fix for this issue.... but it's never happened to me (knock on wood).... I'm wondering if you know "why" this happens? Now I'm concerned that it may have happened to me & I just didn't know!
