I have a question regarding the styrofoam balls used in the pots when making a cupcake bouquet....where are you guys getting these at? I looked at our Michael's and for one round one it was just about $5 and I thought that was pretty steep for ONE ball, then to add the pot, shredded paper, and then cupcakes it could add up? Just wondering is this a normal cost for these? Thanks for you help.

There's another thread somewhere about supplies for cupcake bouquets! My WalMart isn't as expensive as other stores....and I have a vendor's only store not too far that has great prices on foam. Also, Old Time Pottery has great prices....cheapest so far! Hobby Lobby is also great on their green foam balls, they even have 1/2 balls for .87 each!

Aw I wish we had a Hobby Lobby here icon_cry.gif I was at Walmart yesterday and bought one ball for $3 something and I will cut that in half and at least get 2 out of it. Wonder why they are so expensive?!
Thanks for the responses.

Can something else be used? What about an edible hard forming clay? I hate using things that will just go to the trash and not biodegrade either... Racking my brain here...

I'm already thinking that instead of using paper for the shreds, I'll cover the ball (covered in saran wrap) in buttercream leaves or something... but how to get rid of the styrofoam altogether? Hmmm...playdoh dries out pretty good and it's non toxic! LOL
