What Should I Charge For This Cake

I am making my first wedding cake and need to figure out how much to charge. This cake is going to be from Martha Stewart's wedding magazine. It is going to be 3 tiers, square. 12, 10 and 8 inches. The cake is an apple cake with caramel cream cheese filling (it tastes awesome by the way!!). It should feed about 154 people according to the serving guide. I have attached a picture. She wants it decorated like the bottom 3 layers. Can you guys give me a price I should charge? I have to travel almost 2 hours to deliver it!! I also don't know what I should place this cake on. Does anyone have any suggestions?? HELP!! sunflowerfreak
are you doing fondant or buttercream decoration? I charge from $2.25 per serving buttercream and $2.50 per serving fondant, so for a cake this size I'd want at least $350 in buttercream and $385 in fondant. I would also charge for delivery by return trip per mile (I don't know the gas prices in the US, so can't advise you on that!), and a flat set-up fee of $25. I'd place the top 2 layers on double boards and then the bottom cake on a piece of covered hardboard at least 16in square (they should be able to cut this for you at a good hardware store). Don't forget to dowel well and I would transport the tiers separately and assemble on site - 2 hours is just to long to risk taking it assembled IMO! Good luck!
It's going to be buttercream icing. I am buying the pearls, white ribbon and the navy ribbon bow at AC Moores. So it will basically be a buttercream icing. The only fondant will be the dots on the second tier. What kind of boards do I get for the tiers? The cake cardboard boards? Double them?
