y'all are an incredible inspiration. I've just finished my first try at MM fondant, and ....it worked!!!
I have leftover fondant, but not enough for another cake. Since all of you are so clever, I just know there are ideas to use this 'by product'.
What are your ideas?
thanks!

I story it in a vacuum sealed bag for the next time I need it. It stays fresh and moist so I am not tossing all that surplus in the trash.

Besides if I don't seal it right away, my children have a habit of nibbling until I no longer have to worry about what I am going to do with the leftovers!

I don't know if it would work with mmf but for normal fondant I knead in a few drops of peppermint essence, roll out, cut into small shapes and serve them as peppermint creams

I keep it in airtight containers and the next time I need a small piece of that colour it is already waiting for me.

Cut it into strips and serve it to the kids. Ok, I secretly eat it and don't share with them!

I use it to give my dog his medication! LOL LOL LOL He needs pills twice a day, and he loves MMF! Now I worry he will need insulin soon too! LOL

Make a MMF bow or roses for a future cake

I have a set that is a 5 flower cutter and press. The press will do 5 flowers at one time, hence the name! The result is tiny hydrangea-type flowers that I keep in an container. I do this with leftover fondant and then have these small flowers to add to a design or use to fill in if needed.

I make up stars and hearts on wires in different colours. I mix a bit of gum trag in the fondant to help it dry quicker. I roll out the coloured fondant, cut the desired shape then place a covered wire that l have dipped in some edible glue into the shape then lay them down flat to dry. icon_smile.gif

I'm sorry,
That was my daughter, Neha!!! I left my computer logged in to CC, and she decided to post.
It's true, she loves to eat fondant(homemade). So fussy about any other food, and putting on weight, but forgets all of that when there is leftover marzipan, fondant or cake!

I love to do cutouts for future cakes, and the rest I place in a gallon ziplock. I seem to make a lot of 2-layer 6" or 2-layer 8" cakes so I can cover quite a few cakes with 1 batch of MMF! icon_biggrin.gif
