So I recently found out that my husband & I will be expecting our second baby. After I sat & thought about who all I had told, I realized I had not posted it to my friends here. We will find out next Thursday exactly how far along I am next week. We are very excited as well as our 3 year old daughter. If anyone has any ideas to help her along with this transtion that would be great. Thanks icon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gif

How wonerful! To help your child through this, let her be a part of it. Tellher she is going to be a "Big Sister!! Yahooo!!!, and refer the the new baby as our baby. Let her help pick out things for the baby because she is the "big sister".

Congratulations ! when I was having my 2nd child I bought a present for my eldest (from the baby ) to get after the birth,so he wouldn't feel left out because mummy & baby get presents & it makes it extra special because his new little brother gave it to him !! icon_biggrin.gif I did this for all my consecutive children too !

Congratulations!! How exciting for your family!
I had my second when my DD was 2. We made her our special helper, which made her a big part of getting ready for baby. I had some very special friends who included her by bringing her a small gift to the baby shower. When her little brother was born, she would help by bringing me blankets, clean diapers, etc. She felt very important because she was helping Mommy AND baby.
One thing that happened that I wasn't expecting, and I don't know how common it is, was when I was in the hospital, my mom brought Sophie to visit and she freaked out and wouldn't even talk to me. I guess because she was so young, she couldn't understand what was happening and there I was in a hospital gown and in bed. Once we got home she was fine.
Wow, sorry this is so long!!
