So, I know some of you remember a few weeks ago when I had the bride wanting me to make this one specific "secret" recipe from a friend in NJ. She was supposed to get with me by June 1 to let me know what the friend said. On June 2, I realized I hadn't heard, so i knew I was in the clear! Today I got an email that said the friend wouldn't give up the recipe, so sorry they couldn't have me do the cake. I emailed her right back and said "that's ok, I am no longer available that day and couldn't have done the cake anyway". So, it's peacefully ended. *sigh of relief*

the good news is that I have two other wedding cake orders on the books, one for July and one for August with two brides that seems quite easy to get a long with. I am really nervous, but I am looking forward to the experience!

Sounds like it ended perfectly! Consider yourself very lucky! I just can't understand why someone wouldn't give up a recipe. I could understand if you lived in the same town and were competition or something, but otherwise, who cares??
