Wow, Maryann, Your cakes are beautiful! I missed the show tonight but will catch it next time it's on - I can't wait!
Ok one more thing i replied to a PM and it says it is my outbox. Why did it not send when I hit submit??
A PM will remain in your Outbox until it's opened/read by the recipient. Then it will move to your Sentbox.
HTH
Thanks Now I look like a stalker!! I sent it like three times!!

They picked me to pieces as they do with everyone else! It was fun! The cake is in my cake room with all the other cakes I have done! The pink is fading a bit but I still like to look at it! Thanks so much for the kind words ---I might have a big head by the morning!!

okay so i'm 12hrs later but i have to say that i wasn't sure which one it was when i watch it a 2nd time last night (this morning) but i did see it, i've chatted with a celebrity, oh wow & it is so pretty,
how did you keep it, do you just seal it?
DelightsbyE---i agree i liked The Secret Life of...ALOT
Thanks again. The cake is a stand in cake. Most of the cakes are stand ins. If it is sculpted then it needs to be real cake. I did not seal it or anything. It just dried rock hard like a display cake. I will let you know when I feel the super star status!! I just one of the gang who loves making cakes and sharing things I know!
so the cake is what some call a "dummy cake"? so i have the same question i've been asking myself all night (after watching sugar rush's sugar molds) all that sugar does attract bugs (she said she had 1 of those molds for 17 yrs????????
did i make sense?
Your cake is stunning!!! I was watching foodnetwork last night marveling at all of the creations!!

The entire cake is covered in fondant. The fabric starts at the very base of the cake. Good match in color in the day time but at night you could see which was which. The pleating on the cake is just colored fondant with super pearl brushed on the entire cake. As far as eating it there is a lot of fondant so you would most likely remove the pink fondant before service. This is a designer cake and whoever is really paying the money for it wants the look.
thanks again!
Maybe sugar ants with all that sugar lying around! I have them in a room that seems to be fine!

<<picks jaw up off the floor>>...So...The 'fabric' on the cake is fondant and the fabric NOT on the cake is fabric? Oh my, that is quite a talent....

MaryAnn, I am completely taken aback. You don't seem like the stalking type. I'm going to have to file a PM restraining order on you now.

Your fondant and satin match is completely perfect. The whole ensemble is so very Grace Kelly. Lovely!

It is funny that you mentioned Grace Kelly--- My original dress was The wedding Dress of Grace Kelly. It was at a museum on the east coast. I could not get better images so I went with the cake I did. Thanks so much for all the kind words-It is nice to have people be excited about cake as much as I am!

it took me a minute to figure out what that word was suppose to mean--duh--it's list right above them
i learn a new internet term everyday---ooo i'm so proud of myself-& today has been a
kinda day
delights u r good----grace kelly elegent beauty-
East Coast here - still awake
Also - she was talking about "sugar dough" that she used for the lids, is that fondant? They indicated that she only let them dry overnight...when did fondant ever dry so fast?
I'm wondering if the lids are made of pastillage. It is considered a sugar dough and dries very hard. I would love to know how to make those boxes so if anyone knows please pass on the info.
Also, Mary Ann your cake is gorgeous!
