I watched it. The show tonight was a repeat but I loved it the first time so I watched it again. They showed a cupcake tree for a wedding. They also showed some desserts from different restaurants that are really fancy. They also did a grooms cake I would love to try. It was a four tier, buttercream cake done in blue and purple. The cake was decorated with tools made out of chocolate and put on with buttercream as glue. They also made a cocoa butter transfer on white chocolate that looked like wood. Then they showed sugar boxes that a lady makes with the sugar paste and royal icing tops and filled with almonds. She said she has some she has had for 17 years, so if anyone knows how to make the boxes please let me know. Could it be about the same way you would do the sugar eggs?
Thanks for the heads up so I set up my machine to record it. It's not on until 9:30PM Pacific time tonight.
East Coast here - still awake
I watched it, and I'd seen it the first time it was on too. I think the sugar boxes are made the same way as sugar eggs, but what kind of mold she's using, I couldn't tell. Also - she was talking about "sugar dough" that she used for the lids, is that fondant? They indicated that she only let them dry overnight...when did fondant ever dry so fast?
I actually enjoyed more the show that was on before that, Secret Life Of... talking about wedding cakes. I'd seen that one before too, but as my DH will attest, every time a show comes on about wedding cakes, I am instantly glued to the TV and nobody gets to bother me, 'cuz I'm doing "RESEARCH" ![]()
Yes I believe the boxes are the same way the sugar eggs are created. I do Pressed sugar molding all the time.It is timing when to scoop the middles out. This show was real exciting to me because it was my Food network debut for my wedding cake at OSSAS.It aired a couple of times before. I got to see a beauty shot of my pink wedding cake with embroidered rose! This weekend is wedding weekend on Food network. All new challenges and past ones too!

I am working the ranks sure enough! I will do anything The Food Network wants me to do! I did a Guinness Book of world record breakers event in April. I tried to break the world record for tallest Sugar cube tower! Just the cube and nothing else! The record was something like 57 inches. Needless to say no one did it. And the one gal that had the tallest used double the amount of sugar cubes than the previous record. It was an experience though!
MaryAnn you don't have any photo gallery here...would you mind posting a photo of your entry in this thread so we can all see?
pretty please?
I can try to post a pic-I do have a website that you can go to also. www.cakesbymaryann.com
I saw a picture of it in the OSSAS gallery on this site just recently. It has my name on it. I need to get on the main computer to upload so it might be on Thursday. I am on my DH laptop right now!

I actually got into a conversation with one of the mediators. She would not let me post something about mold. Someone posted that mold grows from bacteria and I said that mold grew from spores. they also said mold is a bacteria. is mold and bacteria the same thing?? I didn't think so---I know wierd segway! Anyway she thought I would cause tension with my post.
